Guidelines and Rules for Our Annual All-Classes Picnic 2025
We are excited to welcome everyone to the Annual Hayes High School All-Classes picnic 2025! To ensure future events with city facilities are a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, please review and share with your classes and classmates the following guidelines and rules:
1. Class yard signs will be available for display at the Alumni Association’s Pavilion for classes that have completed registration. Set-up will begin at 10 AM. This is your opportunity to arrange your area, set up tents, and prepare your food before the festivities begin. The picnic officially starts at 11 AM on June 14, 2025. Please arrive on time to enjoy all the activities planned for the day.
2. The Birmingham Park Board requires that cars not be allowed on the grass area after 11 AM for safety and to protect the park's landscape. Law enforcement will be on site to enforce the city ordinance.
3. Absolutely no selling. The City of Birmingham Park Board prohibits vendors and individuals from selling goods and services at the event. Therefore, goods will not be sold, and vendors are not approved for this event. Please purchase your merchandise before the picnic. Please check the Pacesetter Network page on Facebook.
4. The City Park Board has formally stated that MLK Park and Recreation Center will close at 5 PM. Therefore, ensuring the park is vacated by 5:00 PM is crucial; all classes are to begin cleaning between 4:00 and 4:30 PM to allow sufficient time for thorough cleanup. We ask that everyone take responsibility for their area by cleaning up after themselves. Keeping the park clean is vital for preserving its future as a venue for alumni picnic events. Please place all trash near the city-provided trash cans.
5. No visible alcohol is allowed. Please keep any alcoholic beverages in cups and avoid displaying bottles on tables. Make your drinks discreetly and return them promptly to your cooler.
6. Per City Park Board Policy, no RVs will be permitted during the picnic.
7. Please do not park in front of residents' houses in the Avondale community. We must be respectful of our neighbors and their property.
8. Please do not dump hot coals on the grass in the park and the Whatley properties.
9. The MLK Recreation Center will be open for restroom use. Additionally, portable toilets will be available in the park for your convenience. Please keep them as clean as possible.
Security and EMS Services will be on-site to ensure everyone’s safety. We look forward to a wonderful day filled with laughter, food, fellowship, and Pacesetter spirit! Thank you for adhering to these guidelines.
Have a great time, Pacesetters!
